What do Texas and Facebonk have in common? Censorship.

Jun 28, 2013 03:11

I'd seen this just 10 minutes ago on two facebonk friends pages, shared. I tried to share, and it wouldn't let me. When FB reloaded, it was gone from my friends' pages. Another friend shared it, so I've copied it and posted it here, as well as sharing it on FB ( Read more... )

That's a very good question. The first time I tried to share it on FB, it wouldn't let me. I thought it was just me, but an FB friend commented after you that she was unable to share it on FB when she tried.

Thanks, Mike. Shoddy journalism is becoming more and more the norm, in the rush to be the 'first' to get the story. Censorship is, I fear, also becoming more and more common. It's up to people like the authors of this piece - and you, thank you so much - to get this kind of thing out there.

Yeah, about 250,000 people world-wide were watching the live stream, which is probably why the Repubs didn't get away with it. However, I suspect it is more likely technical problems than censorship -- I'm seeing discussion of this all over my FB and all over the net. The Senate leadership isn't even denying the official time was changed, and they are still trying to play it off as a minor glitch, no big deal. (They were real big on the rules earlier -- one of the three strikes that stopped the filibuster was a charge that mention of Roe v Wade was not germane to debate of an anti-abortion bill ( ... )

I've often thought that women Republican politicans must be a little be crazier than male Republicans to put up with male Republican politicans.

"deep in the heart of texas..."

I have to agree with what halfmoon mollie said, journalists can't be trusted any longer to report the truth. What happened to the world where yellow journalism was considered a negative?

Reporters have been whipped in line by threats of denying access, but why reporters should want access to liars is beyond me. Another is the corporate ownership of the media, but that's a longer, more complicated issue.
