[written, but carefully scribbled out. probably readable if you try way too hard.]

Capell... I've found them. Would you care to play?

[action]

[Martel had gotten bored just lying around, even if Kratos did tell her it was best to rest a couple of days. So she had gone and found her panpipes and seated herself in the grass behind her house. For a ( Read more... )

[Rydia was wandering, still disgruntled at discovering her past week or so had been the result of an experiment. She wanted to take her mind off it, but the news was still too fresh in her mind, and everything served as a reminder. Unable to come up with a solution, she strode throughout the town, no real direction or destination in mind.

At least, until she heard the the faint sound of panpipes. Curious, she automatically began to head towards the music. It was a welcome distraction.]

[she felt Rydia coming before she saw her. Though such senses were dulled now that she found herself mortal, she hadn't lost them entirely. Normally, she would have smiled at the thought of company, but she as well had a lot on her mind after the past week.

Martel played for perhaps another minute after spotting Rydia, and then lowered her panpipes to her lap. By way of greeting:]

I rather enjoy music...

[Upon noticing that she was spotted, Rydia waved and approached. She managed a small smile, not wanting to seem rude.]

You play beautifully. Please, do not let me interrupt you long, if you wish to continue. I would like to stay and listen, if that's alright.

[Oh, right, introductions.]

I am Rydia of Mist.

I am Martel.

[She paused a moment, then brought her panpipes back up to her lips to play, this tune slightly livelier.]

[seeing as he had stopped to listen, she took that as encouragement, and continued to play for a short while longer, until it faded to the end of the song. Glancing up at Sheik, she smiled, which says a lot for the soothing effects of music.]

You enjoy music as well.

[it was more a statement than a question, but it hopefully would still serve as a conversation-starter.]

[She breaks out in a grin. Start playing an instrument, and other musicians just pop out of the woodwork, so to speak. She nods once in understanding, then lifts her panpipes slightly. He initiated it, so she'd follow his lead.]

[Sadly, Martel's house is right across from Yuan's. As he steps outside for some fresh air, his enhanced hearing instantly catches that familiar tune in the air. He can't quite help himself from moving towards it, either. As if being lured by Martel's song, he slowly approaches the backyard where she's playing.]

[is it really? mun Martel wasn't aware of that fact. However, she could sense Yuan was coming from most of the way around the house. Before she could stop herself, her tune shifted smoothly from what could be considered 'ad-libbing' to an old, familiar lullaby. Do you remember it, Yuan? She played it to Mithos, all those years ago...]

[He remembers, alright. It's been four-thousand years since he last heard it, but he remembers. Still, he's not about to let that song scare him away. Completely against better judgment, he keeps walking until at last he steps into the garden. Too bad he had no idea what to say.]

[he was still coming, even after the familiar song... She didn't mean to scare him away, though. She didn't know what she'd meant, by playing that song. What she did know, though, was how her lips curved up into a smile when he came around the corner into sight, making it somewhat more difficult to continue to play. She managed, though, and any waver in the tune that it had caused soon disappeared.

He didn't know what to say. Martel understands. She won't make him talk, not if he doesn't want to. She continues to play, though softer now in case he does decide to say something.]

[have a Martel who really hoped he would. Slow, careful script:]

Indeed. They were... just where you said I'd find them.

Can I hear you play?

Of course. If you'd like. I'm at home.

[don't give up on her, Capell. She might be a little icy now, but she's hurting too.]

However, I'm pleased that you enjoy it.
