I attended Wondercon annually when it was in Oakland and San Francisco. Oakland's venue at the Hyatt Hotel and Henry Kaiser convention center was big and roomy when the focus was just comics and a few artists. The San Francisco venue was at Moscone Center and more decidedly crowded with more cosplayers and name movie actors and production people showing up. The Moscone venue was too small and Wondercon moved to Anaheim with no plans to come back to the Bay Area. I go for the comics art and dvds of tv shows and animation not officially licensed yet. No plans to commute to SoCal for a con only.

Not a fan of heavy crowds, particularly when a group holds a long conversation in the middle of the aisles and not keeping things moving.

Really miss the 90's when I could drop $2000 a weekend (half for a nice Hotel, and Half on goodies). Still miss the con even with the crowds and the size. Yes the panel lines are ridiculous, now, and it's grown to encompass the whole gaslight district, but I still love the scene.
