Several weeks ago, almost a month and a half, I started having major melt downs. By melt downs, I mean just breaking down and crying for seemingly nothing at all. At first it was happening only at home, so I was just thinking I was grieving over the death of my son, the stress of having my husband away at school and having two teenage sons to ( Read more... )

Paul's journal today links to yours. i'm so glad it did. i hope you are able to act on your epiphany. i hope it helps.

it's hard sometimes to love ourselves as we would love others. many of us tolerate exhaustive behaviors in ourselves that we would discipline our children for -- things like not getting enough rest, not eating right, losing balance in activities.

i'm sorry for your loss, and Paul's. i'm sorry you find yourself somewhat alone right now. i hope you will get the rest you need so that you can give yourself the other things you need.

may your god bless you and yours.

for your reply. I never thought about it in terms of what I would expect or tolerate from my children. That is a new and interesting perspective. Thanks!

I don't consider myself an expert on mental health, but Martha I believe what you have recently experienced is a huge breakthrough regarding your esteem and worth. Thank you so much for the words of wisdom. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.

I am starting back at work next Monday after a 2 1/2 month leave of absence and I will truly take these words to heart. I will need to take the time daily to remind myself and act on it as my habit of neglecting myself is so ingrained.

So glad to have you contact me too, because I was going to have Paul look you up to find how to get a copy of one of your CD's. Now, I have it. Your music was absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad we didn't miss you.
