Last Sunday I woke up early and drove to Fairmount Park in Philadelphia to take photos of the cherry blossoms. I go to Sakura Matsuri there every year, but it's usually so noisy and crowded that it's difficult to relax (much less take good photos). I'll never forget the image last year of a couple of huge teenagers ripping the blossoms off the branches and trying to climb the trees. ::shudders:: So it was nice to visit the park before the crowds and celebration next weekend; I had the entire park to myself! The only other creatures near me were birds, squirrels, and a deer (I never would've thought that deer lived in Fairmount Park @n@... I wish I had been fast enough to take his photo).
This robin was so ticked off because I kept trying to take his photo in the cherry blossoms >n<;;;
there were some beautiful tulips in the park

I feel as though going to the park alone and experiencing such utter tranquility has fortified me for the hubbub of Sakura Matsuri, so I think I'll go after all. Say hello if you see me!
