hopefully the fwoosh was not flame? Tragic nonetheless. Is it repairable or a death sentence?

The fwoosh was a big cloud of smoke. It happened near a garage, but the mechanic had already gone home. Best case scenario is that it was the fan belt and its housing falling out.
