Yesterday a close friend of mine that I've known for 25 yrs passed away she was only 39 yrs old, her daughter(my goddaughter)is only 10 yrs old. I feel so bad that this beautiful girl has to deal with the fact that her mother has died. It completely devestates me..her mother was the only parent she has really known for 10 yrs and now shes gone

im really sorry. I feel terrible about all of this. i agree with you that it all falls on rachael. that poor kid, shes so young and helpless and has no control over what happens to her now, HOWEVER, i do believe that she will be better off and even tho michelle loved her more than anything in the world, she didnt always put rachael in the best circumstances. It might not be easy as she gets older to have her grandparents raise her, but at least you know that between you and them she will live a full life and be happier than she has been for a long time. shes a good, smart kid and she will prosper from this.
She's where she should be, with the two other people in the world that she adores and that adore her.

You're right Rachael will be in a more stable place...Its just weird knowing I wont see her everyday. But she knows her Auntie M will always be there for her just like I have always been.
