Well, that was quite the ride...
There's something about Matt Smith's acting that just, resonates, I guess. Like, there's always so much going on under whatever's going on, there's layers and then more layers. I guess that's why I like him so much better than Tennant, because with him there was just this sort of crazy going on, and while he had it sometimes too, those layers, he mostly drowned them out, I felt. Or perhaps he wasn't good enough for that. Smith is still not better than Eccleston, obviously, but you can't have it all :p
There were some really interesting character bits here, from the Doctor about how he takes people with him because of vanity, and Rory's lack of faith. I do wonder what was in the Doctor's room. His first wife? The TARDIS? I feel there was something heavily implied by the "Do Not Disturb"-sign, but I'm not sure what. The Doctor's afraid of sex? In that case, perhaps it was River :p
There was something else I though of while watching it, but I can't remember now.
