Kitchen and floor progress!

So after they pulled up the carpet and pad in the dining room today, the gap in floor height was not as much as they thought. So no cement! They plan to glue down a thin plywood subfloor ( Read more... )

We would LOVE to do an ultra-modern kitchen one day, but for this very traditional house in a very traditional neighborhood it just wouldn't fly. But at least mounting the travertine vertically gave it a little contemporary touch, I think.

We had laminate floors done in Feb. I had a grey laying on it that mirrors your picture. What a hoot.

Kind of slippery for them, so I have area rugs, but I love my floors.
