so last week i DVRed the tyra banks show. she had an episode on hate crimes because one of her friends had been the victim of a gay-bashing in nyc and she wanted to bring some light to the issue. she had him on there and after him had one of fred phelps daughters and two of her daughters. watching them spew their hate and calling it love made me ( Read more... )

oh shit. yeah. i saw a preview of it on some morning show. did you see it? i think it would boil my blood even more.

I saw Jesus Camp and it was a huge huge huge trip...
Not really being raised going to a church it was pretty shocking and numbing for me... but I have been around churches enough to have an inkling of what is going on. Seeing it happen though is just insane. My imagination can't come up with this stuff.
There wasn't really anything specific about gay stuff in there.. but it IS very shocking what these fundamentalists put their kids through. I can't imagine it's too too different in effect from what other fundamentalist groups would do with their kids.
I'd suggest seeing it unless you think it would totally freak you out.
