though wouldnt it be....wierd...if the cat tried to jump *over* something like say..a small fence..and the little bag thing snags on the fence and ends up hanging the cat? that may be impossible but that was the first scenario that popped into my head..
And give the other roaming neighborhood cats an advantage? Not a chance. If you have a cat thats sedate enough that it will stand for having that around its neck (which mine wouldn't), why even let it outside? I don't see how a cat could be at all comfortable or happy with that.
And how would it give other cats an advantage? It's not like this thing weights 10 pounds and keeps the cat from jumping at all. And if your cat doesn't like wearing a collar, which is what it feels like, why would you let your cat outside to begin with?
I watched that video, the cats movement is hampered and its reaction time is slower. They say it feels like a collar, but a collar doesn't slow you down, throw off your balance, or drag underneath your feet. I think its crap and I'd never subject my cats to that. But thats just my opinion.
Personally, I probably would. For an indoor cat, just to get them to get off the counters. Talking to the guy, the cat doesn't need it on all the time. After a few days, they're trained not to, and you can take the collar off. As for the backyard, depending on where I lived, yeah, I would. When I worked at the vet office, we had a couple cats come in who got out of the backyard, and were run over. Not something iI'd want to happen to my own cat.
