Man, someone needs to put the word out that "Trans writers welcome" isn't good enough. Too many woman-oriented groups/publications use that kind of phrasing to signal "we welcome our trans-masculine sisters while avoiding any controversy that might arise from the appearance of any commitment to the gender identity or inclusion of trans women."

I understand that others who use this language are often just trying to be as broadly inclusive of gender diversity as possible, but unfortunately the climate is such that those who intend to be inclusive of trans women as women (or genderqueer or non-binary people assigned male at birth, for that matter) need to say so explicitly.

I know. Also, "work for, about and/or by women" is pretty much the vaguest theme in the history of themes.
