And those of us who dislike the taste of artificial sweeteners will say 'ew' and stop eating after one bite (maybe two, because aspartame isn't as bad as some. But you're right, we won't be nearly as ticked off as the ones with the migraines. When it comes to "light" desserts, myself, I just favor eating the same thing but less of it. Half the calories!
If you ask me, "light" is EXTREMELY overrated, especially if she's using aspartame. My sister-in-law is terribly allergic to it. Ugh. Also, real sugar is better. And really? Raspberry jam too long to make? Right. It's the ONLY jam my husband really makes.
I haven't seen her show and I had pooh-poohed her semi-homemade show before but after visiting my sister, I can see who Sandra Lee's audience might be. Both my sister and her husband work and by the time they've picked the kids up from day care and driven home, it's getting late and they really need dinner on the table NOW. So these semi-homemade recipes would help a lot I'm guessing. In the meantime, they often pick up take-out.
I'm not down on the concept, I do a lot of stuff ahead of time to simplify cooking supper as well. It's just the amount of lies and downright bad dealing (as people have mentioned, poisoning one's guests) that she pushes .
I can't stand that woman. She can't cook, and she propogates this idea that eating poison is not only okay, but okay to hide that you're feeding to your friends. I can't watch her for even 30 seconds without having to control my temper.

1) There is NO substitute for sugar, and
2) Jam is about as easy a thing to make as I can imagine.
