Hey everyone! We have some great stories up for claims this year!
Now that the rough draft deadline has passed, we're putting the summaries up for artists to peruse. The claims don't actually open until Saturday, September 23rdh at about 12 noon Eastern Time, but we want the fanworkers to have a chance to think about their claims now.
Authors, if your story is missing, or something else is wrong contact us ASAP so we can fix it.
This post will be closed to comments until claims open on Saturday. We will post a notice that claims are opening (around 12 noon Eastern Time), at which point we will open up the comments and each artist can claim ONE story. We want to allow artists time to claim stories, however at 3:00 PM Eastern Time on September 23rd we will open claims up for artists to claim more stories. Artists can claim up to 5 stories, although no story will be able to have more than one artist unless all stories have been claimed at least once.
When requesting your story, please list your top three choices in the order that you want them. Please give both the number and title of the fics you want (e.g., "1, Begin Again"). The claims will be on a first come, first served basis, and we will do our best to confirm your claim as soon as possible.
The post will be open for anonymous comments so that you can claim without joining Livejournal, but if you do, please be sure to list the username you signed up with in your claim.
Fanworkers, if you are not a member of the comm, please join by filling out
this form after you make your claim. If you have any questions, please contact us on our page-a-mod post or on Discord.
Claims will close on Saturday, September 30th. Match-ups will be emailed as soon as possible; it will be up to the author to provide the artist with a copy of their draft at that point. If an author notices that their story has been claimed and confirmed before that point, and wants to send their story to their fanworker before match-ups are sent out, that's fine :)
And now, the summaries!
1)
Title: little lion man
Genre: hurt/comfort, whump
Fandom/Universe: Thor, Human AU
Characters/Pairings: Thor/Loki (mild), Valkyrie, Korg, Tony Stark, Thanos, Grandmaster
Warnings: Non con, drug and alcohol abuse, animal cruelty/death, graphic violence
Rating: M
Summary:
Loki Laufeyson is an animal rights activist who has set his sights on getting the poorly-run Asgard Animal Park shut down. Upon a visit he meets Thor, the owner and caretaker of the park, as well as the animals Thor is incredibly attached to. Loki learns the park was inherited, and Thor doesn’t want to lose his family legacy so he does everything he can to keep it running, even if its barely scraping by.
Loki decides to start working at the park, where he learns more about Thor’s horrible coping mechanisms of drugs and alcohol, and about the history of black market sales of exotic animals, which Thor has started up again in order to be able to continue feeding the menagerie. Thor’s paranoia continues to grow as his friends begin to question his methods. He gets involved with Thanos and the Grandmaster, which doesn’t end well for anyone.
The park disbands, and the animals are dispersed to other sanctuaries. Thor disappears. Loki goes back to work at Stark Industries, but when he runs into Thor again - in a much worse place than when he’d first found him - he and Tony work to establish the Stark Wildlife Foundation, and its crown jewel: The New Asgard Animal Sanctuary, making sure to retrieve all of the animals Thor had raised, and then Thor himself. Thor and Loki end up living happily ever after in a small house overlooking the tiger habitat.
Think Chris Hemsworth in Rush (with tattoos) and Tom Hiddleston in basically anything in terms of character aesthetics.
2)
Title: A Walk Down Lafayette Street
Genre: Time Travel AU, Friends-To-Lovers, Slow Burn Romance
Fandom/Universe: MCU
Characters/Pairings: Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff, various other cameos
Warnings: explicit sexual content, one graphic depiction of violence, character deaths
Rating: M
Summary:
An unlikely assignment draws Clint and Natasha closer together than ever before. But when fate intervenes and propels them down divergent paths, it carves a shift in their bond that spans across the ages.
3)
Title: Coming Home
Genre: BDSM AU & Canon divergent
Fandom/Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
Characters/Pairings: Tony Stark/Peter Parker
Warnings: BDSM, Total power exchange, non-sexual submission, dubious consent, depression, emotional child abuse (past), age gap, obsessive behavior, emotional negligence by a parent, mentioned abusive relationship (not main ship), power imbalance, will eventually have sexual submission in later parts
Rating: M
Summary:
Following the confrontation with his abusive ex Harry and Tony’s offer to take control to help stop him from spiraling into depression, Peter is ready for things to be different. He comes home for the summer from college, and instead he feels more adrift than ever as Tony insists that he stay with Aunt May despite Peter’s reservations. It’s rough, as May is with Happy, and they’ve got a new house, and Peter just feels more in the way than ever.
Bad goes to worse before it comes to a head when May finally admits what Peter always knew; that she didn’t actually want him there and he was as alone as he had thought he was. To add insult to injury, he finds out she’s pregnant with Happy’s child, and this child is wanted like he never was. Tony whisks him away after that, and Peter finally gets the summer he was expecting as he lives at Stark Tower with Tony.
The only sour note comes when Pepper tries to warn Peter away from Tony’s controlling ways. Peter jumps to Tony’s defense, because he was only doing what Peter had asked. Pepper backs off, but Peter can tell she still thinks he doesn’t know what he’s getting into. Peter doesn’t care though, because it finally feels like he can breathe, and while what they have isn’t perfect by any means, he’s happier than he’s been in years. (Canon divergent from IW where Thanos is defeated on Titan instead, the story occurs in between Peter's sophomore and junior year of college).
4)
Title: Pull Out Some Hope for Me
Genre: Alternate Universe
Fandom/Universe: MCU / Marvel 616 (Superior Iron Man)
Characters/Pairings: Peter Parker & Superior Iron Man
Warnings: none apply, references to canonical character deaths, references to alt-reality character death
Rating: R
Summary:
Following the events of "No Way Home", Peter isn't bouncing back as well as he would like. Everything in his life is going wrong. He can barely make rent; he can't get a job; his former friends aren't interested in being his friends again. He misses the hell out of Tony. And, wouldn't you know it, he's going to be late for his latest job interview because there is a giant eyeball monster attacking the city. But, it turns out, Strange and Wong don't need his help with the monster; they've got it covered. Not that Peter can get there anyway, since something blinded him and threw him to the ground. Peter wakes up in what he thinks is still NYC. But when everything feels just a little *off*, he starts to think he may not be where he thought he was. Compound that with a man who looks almost exactly like Tony pulling up in a sleek black car, offering him food and shelter, and it starts to get complicated.
Tony Stark (Superior Iron Man) is too damned busy to be worrying about small-time businessmen who don't pay their rent on time and refuse to follow very simple rules. Especially not when he's alerted to a sudden temporal anomaly. And certainly not when he spots Spider-Man limping down the street. There hasn't been a Spider-Man in his town for over two years. He drives out to find this Spider-Man and convinces him to get into the car so he can put him up in Stark tower, get him cleaned up, get him some food, and find out just what the hell is going on and how the guy got there.
5)
Title: Classically Composed
Genre: Modern AU, College/University AU
Fandom/Universe: MCU
Characters/Pairings: Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers (main ship), Sam Wilson/Natasha Romanoff (side ship)
Warnings:initial power imbalance (Professor/Student attraction)
Rating: Explicit
Summary:
Bucky Barnes doesn’t have time for anything impractical, especially gen ed classes that waste his time and distract him from his engineering degree. That’s why he waits until his last semester in college to sign up for a music appreciation class, which is the only thing standing between him and graduation. When his professor walks into the classroom, Bucky’s brain short-circuits. Although he’s sure he’ll never be good enough for someone so suave, intelligent, and successful, that doesn’t stop Bucky from wanting to find out what’s underneath starched button downs and jackets with corduroy elbow patches.
A decade into his academic career, Steve Rogers is burned out-not because he doesn’t love his job but due to the bone deep, aching loneliness that dogs him during the empty hours after classes and countless faculty meetings. It’s just his luck that a long-haired, one-armed veteran turns up in one of his classes with a scowl, obvious self-esteem issues, and a chip on his shoulder. Although Steve won’t cross the line between student and professor, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t long for something more, especially when Bucky seems to need him as much as Steve wants someone to love.
6)
