Oh dear, poor Mystique, forced to resort to a hairstylist to change her appearance. I like the history you've given these two here.

I don't know why it took me so long to read this, but it's excellent! So much going on with these two, so much history (both world history and personal history) behind them, and their conversation is really fraught and tense and perfect. I love the way these real emotions peek out from under their cold femme fatale exteriors, and the way they interrelate. The end is great, too, if sad. Awesome.

I'm glad you liked it. I feel like I could do a lot more with their history given the time. . .

I haven't yet seen Iron Man 2 so I'm not familiar with Natasha at all. I didn't have to be to enjoy this though, because I do love Mystique. Oh the finality at the end. I hated that about X3, her abandonment.

"But if you fall over tomorrow it will have been a good life. I understand."

Poignant. And she's so clever throughout, just as Mystique would be. Great story!

Thanks! We don't really learn much about Natasha in the film, aside from her extremely cool persona, but I thought this was a decent backstory for her.

Glad you enjoyed it.
