well, if you have a job and can commit to a contract then rent can be something around 5-600 for an efficiency, and even at month-to-month I found a place at 675.

My one bedroom place was $650/month, it wasn't quite downtown, but it was walking/biking distance from downtown. If you sublet a room during the summer, it can be half that.

yeah, I'm subletting a room in a 5 bedroom right now that is less than 400 a month including high speed internet and all utilities. If you are willing to take a chance with roommates then you can get a place for relatively little money.

If you don't live downtown, it gets cheaper. My 3br is $875 total, though that doesn't include utilities (say another $200). With a basement.

Pretty much all leases start/end on August 15th. You could probably sublet until then, although the best times to find sublets are at the beginning of the summer and the end of first semester.

Mirkwood is a 3 br about a block from the capital for $1350 a month ($450 per person), and it gets cheaper as you move further away from downtown.
