So now college acceptance letters are in...I think I am sadder than I was before...I thought getting into Swarthmore was just enough (and it WAS!)...but now acceptances from other colleges are confusing me...So i decidely to narrow it down to two schools: Swat (YAY!)..and Yale (my mom says :YAY!...I sulk ( Read more... )

odd, had i not gotten into swat, i probably would have gone to yale too... i guess it's a chinese thing? though my mother didn't really push for it that much. okay, to answering your questions: i'm in beijing right now, but we're going to dalian later cause my grandparents/uncle lives there. i was born here, moved when i was 5 (so i never went to school here) no siblings, we speak mandarin (i can speak fluently but can't write/read much) my cousin's part of it i think, i really don't know. where are you from? and are you living in the states now?

Dude, COME TO SWAT. The finaid situation is a big thing, I know...I don't know if this will work at all, but maybe if you called FinAid at Swat, and told them Yale was giving you xyz, and if there was perhaps something they overlooked in your aid application...I don't know if they will give you any more or not cause of Yale, but you can always try.

I looked it up. I have never heard of that school in my life. Hmmm, I would go to Yale, just because from then on doors will open to you more easily b/c more people know of it.

thanks for the info on New Haven! I am going to visit it in April..so we will see. I do agree that Professors at Swat are definitely more accessible!
