New Layout with Spike!

Yeah, I know I just changed it, but the colors were just too hard on my eyes. I'm hoping this one will be a bit easier on them.

My thanks to khaoschilde and rae_isha who gave me info on using flexible squares with the side picture. So I could use my favorite manip of Spike, of course ( Read more... )

So glad you like!

And it's sooooo easy! I just used the regular Flexible Squares layout (It was a black and grey one, but of course I changed all the colors). Then, I did these things in the Customization area:

1. In the Display area, under 'Presentation', I set the page alignment to "Right". I played a bit with the Journal width - mine is 58%.

2. In the Style area, under 'Images' I put the URL of the Spike pic (I uploaded it to Photobucket), then set the drop downs under the image section to 'Don't Repeat', 'Top Left' and 'Fixed'.

3. When tweaking colors, I set a lot of them to the same color as the background so that the more familiar Flexible Squares design sort of disappears.

I did the usual tweaking of font sizes for the title and stuff and that's it! No special coding at all. I was surprised at how quickly it came together.

Let me know if you give it a try! :-)

So glad you like it - and you're right, Spike's size looks just perfect. :-)

LOL! Glad you like - thanks!

I've reworked this base a couple of times because I so love it. Damn, wouldn't it have been nice to see Spike dressed like this just once?? (Caia was kind enough to point out that, thanks to me, we can!)

Oh hey, this is *lovely*. The text along the left edge is an added bonus--it's all quite stunning. :)

Hee! No, I never noticed that til you pointed it out. No idea how it works. I wonder if it will start to creep me out, or if I'll just become mesmerized? *snicker*
