Japanese maples are a favorites and all those hostas!

I deeply envy those Japanese maples, which would never grow for me just 15 miles away - my gardens are far too exposed.

Can you give us a general 'where in the US' she lives? I'm in the Pacific NW, but the non-rainy side...wondered how much could work here...

There are annuals in the pots that add splashes of color and she has a number of clematis vines that add their bold flowers as well for a good part of the summer.
But I agree that she's done an amazing job of making it all so interesting without depending on blossoms.
