On October 28th I turned in some post-mortem paperwork regarding my father. I was told they would respond between 7-10 days. I called the next day to make sure everything had been received and was properly formated ( Read more... )

I'm sorry you're going through this ... Both of my parents died in 2013. They had not done much estate planning. It took five years before all of their belongings were gone through. I took 11 days just prior to the pandemic, flew to Texas and went through boxes ... The paperwork for them was not easy. In fact, we found a couple of items that were a big mess because my mother lied to us for decade about insurances.

I hope you get closure soon ... There is no timeline on grief.

Yesterday I received a call that was supposed to come in 7-10 days... back in April. It's maddening, I know, and I'm sorry you're having to go through it. Anger and frustration become part of the mourning process when we're not allowed the time we need to grieve.
