I don't know the difference between signs and omens. But it was probably just that butterfly's time to change states.

Maybe it means you're about to get smacked upside the head with transformation? Of that transformation is going to give you a swift kick in the butt, but it will be beautiful!

My favorite animal omen story was about this wonderful wise woman who does retreats out in east texas. She takes her teachings from all over and often refers to animal medicine and the meanings of different animals.

Someone remarked at a retreat that they never see hawks on the side of the road coming to the retreats, but sees them often on the way home. She asked what it meant.

She replied, "well, it means a lot more people are driving on these country roads on the weekends"
