Inception: Apparently in the cinema you could hear the top fall when the screen went black. It usually got lost because of the loud audience reaction to the sudden cut to black. As for my thoughts about the movies, I just link you back to my post: http://thefabone.livejournal.com/342458.html

Invention of Lying: My feelings exactly. Though kudos to the movie telling that religion is basically a bunch of lies.

I was actually planning to watch Howl today. Funny.

How could you not have known about Bright Star? (Though to be fair the biggest buzz it got was when it was ignored at the Oscar nominations.)

And while you feel hot, we have snow chaos here in Germany :D

Being a religious person (well, not "religious" per se, but definitely "spiritual") I didn't choose to see it that way. I took it as believing in something that you can not prove it. Meaning: I took it as "faith".

Funny indeed. Tell me what you think of it [Howl] after you watch it.

I don't know. I really don't. I still think it wasn't as exposed as it should have been, at least not down here. Otherwise I would have definitely heard about it. As for the Oscar thing, I'm not into the ceremony. So, it doesn't surprise me that I was out of the loop about the snub.

"Hot" probably was an understatement. Thank God it rained today, so it's way cooler now. At this point I don't know whether I wouldn't prefer your snow chaos over our melting heat. I mean, I like hot weather, but when I have the chance to sit down by the pool or ocean, not so much when I have to work :)

You definitely should. It's truly beautiful, your sister wasn't lying *nor* exaggerating.

Yeah, it totally let me down. I was *really* expecting to be blown away, and felt sorely disappointed after I watched it :( I thought the top would fall eventually as well. It actually kinda wobbled a bit, and I (gladly) took that as absolute proof that it wasn't a dream. The poor man deserved to be with his kids. For real.

Mission accomplished! *lol* You won't regret it. It's totally bleak, and painfully depressing, but when push turns to shove the hurt is definitely oh-so-good ;)
