Higdon / Hahn / Tchaikovsky

Yay! The Higdon violin concerto came in today - I've wanted to hear it for ages (it won the Pulitzer in '08) but it hadn't been recorded for the public yet.  Mostly (to be honest) I wanted to hear it b/c of Hilary Hahn - I met her when she did a tour through Texas at the Bass years and years ago.  She was so nice and we talked for like, a minute, ( Read more... )

It's so nice that you've got a passion like you do for classical music. I just can't get into it despite my trying but I can see the appeal!

It's a love-hate relationship - I like certain aspects of CM, but some (like contemporary CM that's taking everyone by storm, apparently) make me hate it enough for a while that I end up going back to class. rock for a while. :P
