Even I can not make something out of nothing. But here we are, clawing at this episode trying to find a stitch of M/M. Look at it this way, with the Brandi/Raph we are actually closer to M/M. So...here we go.(And I know, as co-mod I don't have to do these but I love to.)
-The witnesses are a married couple(Don & Ruth) that hate each other, but worship god more than they hate each other. So, no sex, no more prayer, but they do witness the priest getting killed.
-Mary is nice for once.
Plans on getting married and divorced(psh, we all know who she's going to marry and there's no way)Also, what hope is there for the rest of us? Well sometimes, Mary, the right person is there, right in front of our faces and we need to pop our head out of the rabbit hole to see them!
-Brandi is jealous that Mary is once again trying to smooth things over with Raph(and failing) and is also mildly retarded. Lemons =/= Limes. Cauliflower =/= Broccoli
-And they make Mary out to be kind of a whore.
Our savior interrupts her date.
-Don's been 'killed'.
MARY AND MARSHALL. Quips about him dying a lonely old man, her relationship with Raph dying, if not dead completely, this whole unhappy people and marriage theme? Anyone? Anyone?
-Marshall leaves. Fast talking blah blah with Boddy D. He will not give up on the fact there is shit she CAN NOT tell him ugh. stfu Bobby.
-Marshall comes ba-oh he's gone. Mary tells Ruth. Not her husband all burnt. And, we apparently are not privy to the M/M talking this episode.
BRANDI AND RAPH
-Jinx has some boring storyline about her childhood dreams. Wah.
Bulge? Oh oh oh, there you are.
Lots of talking. Who can concentrate with this gorgeous man on the screen? MMM
-MARSHALL LEAVES. Mary has blah blah with Raph, has to ignore him for work. Brandi keeps calling. Sitcomedy ensues. Mary gets mad, Brandi gets mad, poor Chico has no one to take him to physical therapy.(And IPS does what they do best, extremely overdo sound fx)
-Mary and Bobby check out the crime scene. Nothing at all racist about the Indian who is all 'one with the land' and can tell basically the color of a person by their shoe prints.
They go to the shelter. No scenes for bb. Mary talks to Ruth, they're going to pray for Don. Think Phil did it. Think cook did it.
-Jinx is all 'smashed dreams' again.
Oh, and running Marsh.
Interrogate Peter(cook). Marshall is hot. Bobby still looks like Rupaul.
-Ruth calls, Phil says Don is dead. They arrest Peter anyway. Go to the church.
-Jinx. ugh.
-Phil is nuts. But yes, of course, Mary figures it out.
Then this happens. And in a church no less.
"What else've I got to do?" Get more screen time maybe?
-Mary finds Don alive. Again with the shushing. Goes on about how he fell in love with Ruth's faith in God, not weird at all. Then how he faked his death so they could both be happy. Mary gets all semi-emotional, believes Don believes. "Two out of Three ain't bad" starts.
Chico tells Brandi they can't be friends anymore D*: Heart is broked.
How much do they need to be together? Brandi is a less abrasive Mary who actually wants to fix herself. Not to say Mary is a lost cause but come on, how far are they going to get with her having to change to be with him? Plus Raph is a nice guy, and Mary just does nothing but tear him apart, whether she means to or not. If only Mary had someone who knew her inside and out, could deal with her, and challenge her at the same time. God if only there was someone...
In situations like this you need someone who stares at Fred most of her day to pick out the eye candy.
Even this closeness after the tragedy that was 'Don' is enough to make me swoon.
-They find the brothers, God totally called it. Sad looks from Mary and Don at Ruth, but happy cause they can be happy. Well except Mary cause well...ya know.
(This episode sucked story wise. I get it, you have to continue and expand Brandi/Raph, tear Mary/Raph apart, but you couldn't add Marsh anywhere? Anything at all? UGH. Way to enrage a fan base by not showing the reason 95% watch! Maybe I am just overly attached to Marshall and this was one of those 'sidekick' episodes. But after 6 straight weeks of amazing Marshall, how can we not be upset?)
I am still all chocked up watching this last sequence. Brandi and Raph, Mary and Marshall, after this all I wanted to do was write ff and just pray for the M/M. Granted, we know there won't be much of any pay off this season(and with the announcement of season 2 we can be less bitter)but the finale has to pack a punch. All of this love and unhappiness and marriage talk made me sad, but happy because it was intertwined with a Mary/Raph situation, making her think and further realize...
"Please, Lord, what does it take for two people to be happy?"
At least next week we get Jealous!Marshall. And the eye candy that is and always will be Jason Wiles.
