WTF is going on??should I be worried???if the sky falls and LJ disappears(which I cannot understand how but...) how will I get in touch with all of you great people who ( Read more... )

#1. breathe ;)

#2. The initial reports got the figures wrong, although somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of the LJ staff did get laid off.

#3. There's a round-up here of the news as people post it.

#4. It's possible to back-up your LJ in various ways, and those of us with lots of content will be doing so! If nothing else, this has nudged me towards getting my own webspace at last... InsaneJournal is an option for a lot of people, and some use it as a mirror to their LJ. If you're worried about losing touch with people, get their email addresses now - those won't change even if LJ goes kablooey. Which it's not going to.

Until synecdochic says so, I'm not going to panic. She knows whereof she speaks, and she's not jumping ship yet, so I'm staying put with all the precautions I can manage :)

Totally understandable. I do recommend doing searching for LJ back-ups if you're worried about losing content, and if there is a mass-migration to something like InsaneJournal, I'm sure you'll be able to find people there :)

Just keep doing the breathing thing and stay organised and you'll be fine :D
