Not very related, but on the same sort of subject matter, that is exactly why I love Martha Jones as the Doctor's companion, because 1 she's a strong, intelligent (not blonde) female, 2 she's not white. I didn't like however that they turned her into such a love sick puppy. Also the same way with 'TW' they kill off Tosh, and we are left with Gwen *errgghh* I guess we can't complain about the women being oversexed in 'TW' because lets face it, there's enough sex of the non-female related sort ;P

I could go on and on about the things wrong with my fandoms Ginny *cough cough Mary Sue* but really, I just try to deal with it and realize that every show will have its defects, lets face it a show that was completely PC would be so boring.

I don't need to read that article to know what it says, lets face it they are guys, guys that write for sci fi, guys that watch sci fi, what sort of female characters do you think they are going to create? Although the stintdedness of some of the male characters allows for some unintential subtext by the writers that develop their characters.
