Still hanging in there

I have been working for the big toy-selling giraffe since right before Halloween. Our little band of miscreants (also known as the overnight crew) will be together at least one more week. I'm still not sure what's going to happen after Christmas, but I did sign up to be considered for a more permanent position

I can believe that you hardly ever know what day it is! I've been getting to work at 6 a.m. for almost 18 years... I can't imagine how I'd fare working a night shift.

I was a Midnight Stocker, too, back in the day, and it felt like all I did was work and sleep, work and sleep. Bonus: this was in the summer in ALASKA! Where nighttime lasted about an hour. Never again! Hell, my current 2nd shift (2 to 10pm) is too much for my fragile soul.

Working nights sucks. It doesn't really matter how much of a night owl you are, it will totally fuck up your schedule and, I think, make you unhealthy in the long run. Youssef and Adam (the psychoboy from last year who wanted me to date him but I refused cause he was um, stalking me) both worked nights. Neither of them seemed bothered by it, but then again Youssef was a psychopath with no use for others (unless he was actually USING them), and Adam was a malcontent who I strongly suspect had borderline personality disorder (okay I'm diagnosing, but I swear he had all the symptoms.) Anyway. Point being, the only people who are HAPPY working at night probably hate other people anyway. I never worked at night, but I obviously had to tailor my schedule around night shifts, and it blows.

Are you still there??? I thought I saw something on FB about you not working there past the hols.
