The question I'm struggling with now is whether or not to get it to one side or in the center of my lower lip.

I think I already said this but I think centre.
Mine's on my left side, but your lips, I think, would work better with the middle pierced. But, honestly, who cares what I think. I've only seen a few photos of you so I couldn't really say for sure.
