So... I'm prepping stuff for the comic I'm doing with Steph to send in a project portfolio to Slave Labor Graphics. Yeah, we're going for it.

First step for me is drawing out character sketches.

Major good luck to you with this. I sent off a comic to SLG two years ago. When they got back to me they said my art was solid enough but my writing and layout skills needed major work (which I fully realized as I agonized over the pages I'd done while waiting for them to get back to me). They were really nice about it too and gave helpfull critique.

That's a relief to hear. If I get turned down, I want to at least understand why so I can improve and try again. Though at the same time I'm intimidated now because I adore your artwork, so my minds all "eep, how can I live up to that?!" But I've gotta start somewhere, even if it's a rejection letter. Thanks so much for the support!
