I was not a comic book fan before I fell in love with comic book movies, and I do LOVE comic book movies, even the terrible ones, with a passion I cannot explain. And that love? Has led me to reading comics. So comic fans SHOULD appreciate that sometimes the movies really do drag you into that world. :o)

I admit, some of these movies prompted me to get into comics I wouldn't have otherwise read. I was a hardcore X-girl for years and never read much of anything else, but after I saw Hellboy I was like shocked stupid by the character of, well, Hellboy. So I ran out, did some research, heard that the comics kicked even more ass, and then blew an immediate $80 on getting the first few graphic novels. It was love.

Even though it was after the fact, I got so pissed to hear that the reason my favorite character in the comics (Kate Corrigan, a former professor of folklore that works with the BPRD and sometimes goes on missions with Hellboy) was cut from the first movie and any movies to come because Del Toro just didn't like the character. That pissed me off as much as X3 thinking it could get away with killing Scott so early on because so many fans didn't like him. HE'S STILL PART OF THE STORY.

But yeah, comic movies are still getting me into new comics even today. :)

Yo, I'm Spiderman too. ^^ We match.
Spiderman films are the best comic book movies I've seen. There are, of course, some other very good ones, but Spiderman takes the cake for me.
