My alarm went off at 8:30. I turned it off. Fran woke me up at 9:00, and told me to get in the shower. I got ready, and then begged for breakfast at McDonalds. I happily ate my biscuits and gravy, and then we headed to Clark's Bridal. Fran tried on her wedding gown for us.
The trip to Memphis was an adventure in its self. There were so many stupid drivers on the road we nearly meet our death several times. :S This funeral party was on the highway and nearly caused several accidents. A black car tried to cut off a 18 wheeler in front of us. Thank goodness he was a good driver and kept control. If not it would have been pretty ugly. :S
Our first stop was David's Bridal to be fitted for our bridesmaids dresses. The lady who waited on us had her head stuck up her butt. She glared at me, and when I asked for a size 8, told me I needed size 10. (The 8 happened to fit perfectly) She galred at me when I came out of the dressing room, and was pushy to the rest of the bridesmaids. We all commented that if she would have tried to smile, her face would have cracked. To top it all off there was another rude lady who told my mother she was in the way and got mad because we had my baby nephew with us. It wasn't like we weren't watching him at all times. He didn't cause any trouble at all. When purchasing my dress I was very tempted to tell the manager that she needed to find new sales ladies. I should have, but just didn't have the nerve. Next time hopefully I will.
After eveyone finished trying on their dresses and being mad at the sales ladies, we were all about to starve to death. We headed to Olive Garden and had to watch centuries for a table. I was so hungry I was about to eat the cloth napkins. I ate way TOO much food, and hoped we would do a lot of walking so I could walk off all I ate.
Me, Fran and some of the other wedding party decided to go to Target. Mom went to the Knowledge Tree, and Dad went to Best Buy. I had fun trying on some stuff at Target, but overall didn't find anything, so I decided to walk to The Knowledge Tree to find mom. It wasn't exactly close, but I needed the exercise anyhow. I got pretty close to the store, but from the looks of it knew it was closed, so I took a detour and headed toward Best Buy. Oh my way there, I decided to call my dad, but since my phone is crap he couldn't hear me ask where he was. I walked around Best Buy and pretty soon figured out he wasn't there. I called back again and he told me he was in the Target parking lot waiting for us. *sighs* I tried to tell him I was at Best Buy, but I knew he couldn't hear me, so I just hung up and started walking back toward Target. On the way to Target Frances calls me and tells me they are coming to get me. I panic, because I am already in the Target parking lot, and don't want them going back to Best Buy. I start running frantically toward Target. I yell at the phone, because I have the feeling I'm going to have to walk back to Best Buy. I wouldn't have cared, but it was like 100 degrees outside. Finally, Fran stops my panic attack, and tells me that they can see me and are driving my way. I get in the car, and announce that I have had it and need a new cell phone ASAP.
I love Barnes & Noble with a fiery passion that can never be quenched. They have lovely books and lovely Starbucks. :) I went in there and wanted to buy the whole Fiction/Literature section. I also wanted to buy a Mocha Frappicino, and actually had the money to afford that. hehe I asked my mommy if I could get a new book. She said yes. I got Brave New World, although I don't know why because I have so many other books I have to read and return to the library. :S
MA's Library Reading List (Some are due tomorrow :S):
-Leap Day
-Time Machine
-War of the Worlds
-Worrying About Celia
-And Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers
Our last stop was to visit Tara at the Ronald McDonald House. The place was really neat, kind of like a kid-oriented hotel. Tara's room was nice. They also have a teen room, play room, and computer room. I visited her for awhile, and then we got ready to leave. On our way out I asked mom if I could buy a t-shirt and bracelet. We ended up buying a denim shirt and t-shirt for mom, a t-shirt for Fran, a t-shirt for Caleb, and a t-shirt and bracelet for me. I was happy though, because all the money goes to such a good cause.
While my mom was writing the check for our stuff, a guy comes downstairs and asks the desk lady a question about the computers upstairs. I started talking to him about computers and then the conversations switched to AP classes and other random subjects. We ended up talking for about 10 or 20 minutes while the rest of my family looked around at the lobby. We got along so well, we exchanged e-mail addresses. He's from Alabama and in the 10th grade. His little brother has leukemia. I'm not sure if it's the same kind as Tara's. I felt so proud of myself that I ended up making a really nice friend with a perfect stranger. hehe
*yawns* I'm so sleepy and have a lot to do tomorrow. Ack...I can't believe it's already 12:44. Where does the time go? School starts in 5 days and I'm so not ready for it.
