So Abbey (suitemate) and I bought a hot glue gun to stick up all our
heavier stuff on the walls. (It holds fast and will rip up the corkboard,
but it comes off clean.) So we were totally psyched and about to get down
to work when TRAGEDY STRUCK-- the gluesticks she picked out were TOO
LARGE. So this is at seven-thirty or so in the evening and we run over to
our nearest 'True Value' (that sells everything). IT CLOSES AT SEVEN. We
drive over to 'ALCO' (our scaled-way-the-hell-down Wal Mart) and IT CLOSES
AT LIKE SEVEN THIRTY. So we ponder our fates for awhile and decide that
going back to face Katie when the night is so royally young just ISNT FUN,
so Abbey gasses up her truck and we drive the SEVENTY MILES to FORT
FREAKING STOCKTON to their 24-hour Wal-Mart. The first half of the trip
consists of rehashing all the things that drive us COMPLETELY BONKERS
about poor Katie---
I INTERRUPT THIS LOBO BULLETIN TO BRING YOU AN EXERPT FROM KATIE'S ONLINE
CONVERSATION WITH SOME RANDOM SOLDIER OFF OF THE INTERNET:
"I mean I saw a picture online of an American soldier --bless his brave
heart!-- giving MONEY to someone who's house was accidentally knocked
down. NO OTHER NATION WOULD EVER, EVER DO THAT! That's a strictly American
thing! Thank God we live here, right? No nation has that kind of
compassion.."
BACK TO PSEUDO-REALITY.
--- and all the things that we do / have done in our lives that would send
us DIRECTLY into her 'hell' and blah blah blah. ABBEY IS A COOL CHICK. A
partyer but we'll totally get along. The wildlife out here is insane and
we came within inches of taking a deer head on in her little F150 truck..
but we're all good and safe and now watch the sides of the road like you
would not believe! (Learning experience.)
Anyway, we roll into Ft. Stockton around 10:15 and take WalMart by storm.
Fun times fun times. We even bought Katie a horn for her bicycle.
(Abbey's idea, and it was a nice gesture I swear!)
So now I'm sitting here listening to technoey crap and the sounds of her
strange internet phone conversation. Nevermind, I just turned on some
IDLEWILD and I'm jamming as quietly but noticably as possible. Hahahahah..
This year is going to be interesting!
You should see the moon here. And the stars! And the desert at dusk is
killer. I can't get over it. It still makes me giddy. :D
