its your friendly neighborhood bama redneck. i liked your beef and its nice to have a disclaimer. just remember, you can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, and no one all the rest. dont worry about what people think, its always worked for me.

While I'm probably the most pathetic example of an "uber-christian," I guess I might fall into that category.

I don't think religion turns people into being closed-minded so much as once a person thinks they've found the answer to a question, they don't bother thinking about how wrong/right all the other answers are... because they already believe they know the right answer.

That's a pretty pathetic way of looking at things, I know... I try my best to go ahead and learn everything on the basis of "someone certainly must believe this"... "Certainly someone believes time has no beginning," "Certainly someone believes there wasn't a single first mover," so I may as well learn their point of view.

It's a shame some people can't just go along with a subject in that manner in such great classes like AP Euro.
