AEP officially sucks. They are cutting down atleast half of the trees in our neighborhood. I used to love our neighborhood because it was like living in a park. Now I can see three backyards down. This is ridiculous. They have NO accountability because they are a government sanctioned franchise. I neither elect them, nor choose to give them

I was going to say, "dude, petitions." But if you can magically get in touch with someone with capital-C Connections, that would probably be more effective. Sadly.

Are they cutting down trees on people's actual personal property? If it's city-owned land, then they might have a right to do it, even though it's stupid. On the other hand, if they're cutting down trees on property that isn't owned by the city, it's almost certainly illegal somehow.

actually, the trees are on the easment. Which means that they have the right to cut them down. It just sucks alot. Just because they have the right to cut them down does not make it right. It is socially irresponsible to come in and destroy beautiful neighborhoods and cut down trees that are older than the people who are cutting them down. Grrrrr.....

I suppose I should take a moment to acknowledge that I care about actual issues like the environment, genocide, etc. This just happens to be pissing me off at the moment.

Mary, have you thought about both sides of the argument? Perhaps the trees don't want to live any longer, and Tulsa is just granting them their right to die.

Maybe the Tulsa government people are just going out on a limb with this project. And then cutting that limb down.
