FanNation is a multi-fandom fanfic archive.  It's modeled after Fanlib, but is non-corporate.  It's fan run.  What makes it unique is that many of the members read crossfandoms due to member run contests of Fanlib.  Many of us learned to appreciate other fandoms and even became fans of previously unfamiliar ones. Glad to see it's up! I'm really, really disappointed to see the categories, though. Having 'slash' and 'femmeslash' listed as 'gay and lesbian' on FanLib was my biggest pet peeve about that archive, and it's like that with this new one as well. In fact, FL changed to allow 'slash' as a category, but there is no such thing at FanNation :(

I don't mean to be a downer right out of the gate, but I was really excited to see it's now up. Now I don't know if I want to post anything--it's not a disrespect to the folks running it, it's just... Slash =/= necessarily gay and lesbian, and as a fan-run archive, it should really make that distinction.

Sorry to sloodge over your happy post! I AM happy it's up, I swear...

That's good thing to bring up with misskitten or thedaringhattrick. I saw that and was a little puzzled, but I don't write slash and only read it once in a blue moon, so I wasn't even sure how Fanlib had catagorized it.

I'm not sure why they catagorized it like that and I will ask and let you know.
