I'm so sorry, m'dear. I could draw up a list of the best television there ever was and point out that every one of those shows was shafted by the networks for something bland and tasteless.
I am coming to your house with my Life DVDs and a couple bottles of wine and maybe some rope and duct tape. You will be my prisoner for a little while. And after we watch all of Life, we’re going to watch Band of Brothers. And the extras, oh yes.
Is this a threat? 'Cause it sounds like a damn fine time to me.
And yes, I didn't say it was uncommon. *g* It's just as awful each time it happens.
It's the main reason I try not to get too involved with shows currently running on tv...it breaks my heart. It's so much easier just to come to the show later, after it's been canned and go, "Aw, it's too bad this show didn't make it," but not be torn apart by it.
P.S. The best part of the Emmy Magazine article? This, from the caption to the first photo: "jeans, Lewis's own". He brought his own Pants. That is all.
Watch Leno?! I'm not going to bother with the whole *#&$^ channel!!! (If we were talking I wouldn't be censoring my swears, but I don't want to dirty up your LJ with foul language.)
That picture is absolutely gorgeous and makes me long for things that will never be.
At least we had 32 perfect episodes. Firefly only got 13! (And a movie because the DVDs sold so well.)
The sad thing is that everyone who I've told about this show never heard of it before. Hell, *I* hadn't heard about it until you started talking about it.
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! It's all we ^$*& have left!!! ETA: In the end, I just couldn't leave the f-word up!
And I've totally given up any delusions I've had about not writing fic. It's a poor substitute, but like with West Wing, I'm going to need it to fill the void. It's like... if I'm still writing about them, then the characters aren't really gone for me. Does that makes sense?

I'm with you on the wine, but what would we need rope and duct tape for? ;-) I have no intention of watching Leno.
I'm sorry, M. I'm very sad, too. *hugs*

Is it any wonder that the networks keep losing viewers and awards to cable shows. No.
