“Bad Guy, you’re just giving him time to save the hostage or get in your head and talk you out of it. Don’t you watch movies?”

BWAH!!!!

Also, damn. I'm in, too. :-)

I know, right? There's a lot to like. I can adjust to the lack of fidelity to the early stories...my only big fear is that it gets too soapy. I wasn't a big fan of the Arthur/Guinivere meeting. More high school crush than arranged marriage that turns into love, which is what it's supposed to be ( ... )

King of Fucking England. That needs to be an icon.

I haven't seen or read many Arthur stories (Mr. Disney's version is about it) so I don't have fidelity problems - which probably makes it easier for me to watch. I've only seen the previews so far - have the first episode downloaded - but I can see where it could get soapy. Hopefully not.

One of the things I like from period pieces is getting a different cultural perspective.

Me too - even Jeeves and Wooster is interesting in this way, though it's more modern (plus Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry are made of awesome).

Yes! I used to see reruns of J&W all the time but haven't seen an episode in years. I should find it -- it's a good show for cheering yourself up. :)

you should all come over and watch this on my ginormous flatscreen.

Just let me know when you're available, and I'm so there. :)

I wish I subscribed to Starz because this version of the Arthurian legend sounds excellent! I love Malory's Morte d'Arthur, but it's been so long since I've read it that I've forgotten some of the details.

I didn't realize Claire Forlani is in this; she's simply beautiful. I'm also glad to see that Jamie Campbell Bower is starting to get substantial roles. I think that kid is going places.

I think you can watch it online! I think. I went on comcast.net to see when it re-aired and they showed a watch online option. ??

Yeah, JCB is on board with some great franchises. I didn't remember seeing him in Deathly Halllows I, but he's in DHII too. And apparently he's in the Twilight series? IMDB tells me he's also in London Boulevard, which I already wanted to see cause I like Colin Farrell.

Starz has the premiere posted on its website. I'm going to try to watch it later tonight! Yay, I'm excited!

JCB is only in one scene in DH:I; it's a brief flashback. His part should be bigger in DH:II, though. I heard there were some longer flashbacks concerning Dumbledore's youth, and since Grindewald played such a huge part in it we should be seeing more of JCB. I try to stay away from all things Twilight, so I'm not sure how big his role is in those movies. ;-)

Yeah, I remember Grindewald in it -- I was sort of looking for him when I saw DHI. I just didn't remember that was the same actor, when I saw him in Camelot. Yes, should be more of him in DHII for sure.

I've seen some of his stills from the Twilight movies on his imdb. He's WELL cast as a vampire. :)
