Guilty Pleasure Movies

Do you guys have any movies that you really don't want anyone to know you like?  I am sure you do.  I do!

I like the Casper movie a lot.  I have no idea why.  I generally hate live action re-makes of cartoon movies, 3D CGI animation makes me sad, and it just may be Eric Idle's worst movie appearance ever*... but I like Casper.

I really do.  :O

Honestlyyy, I can't even really think of much! I guess I just don't have any regrets, haha! I watch a lot of stuff that is meant for little kids (especially TV series) but yeah, nobody is very surprised when they see me watching it ( ... )

I watch all kinds of stuff for kids too, but I felt that Casper was even beneath that! :D

And oh dear, the live action Inspector Gadget... that's on my "never watch this" list.

I did see a studio sneak preview of Casper when I worked at Universal in Florida in 1995. They had a pretty neat exhibit at the park during the theater run, showing props and set pieces. Also was nice since they kept it super cold in the soundstage. I don't know if I still have a button but if I find it, I'll save it for you. :)

I think I saw Quest for Camelot ONCE. I was working at Six Flags when they were doing the cross-promotion, and I think I got called in to do a WB studio appearance leading up to the premiere in 1998. I got the soundtrack CD, then saw it in the theater.

Pretty cool about Eric Idle! I have a friend who met Graham Chapman at a college lecture/appearance. He signed my friend's library card, lacking anything else to autograph.

As for me? I liked Hudson Hawk, but Xanadu... and the Sgt. Pepper film featuring Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees? THAT is a guilty pleasure.

Being able to meet Graham Chapman would have been incredible.

I had to look up what Hudson Hawk was... but it's streaming on Netflix! So I will watch it. :)

Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band - with The Bee Gees, Peter Frampton, Steve Martin, Aerosmith etc. It's really stupid like Xanadu is, and basically a big music video, but it's fun.

The Black Hole - Had this movie come out in the 50's or early 60's it would have been considered a sci-fi classic, but in 1980 the acting, plot and those stupid robots were hopelessly dated and silly compared with what Lucas and Spielberg were doing around the same time. But I like a lot of the special effects and that cool HUGE spaceship.

And a lot of Ed Woods movie, they are really atrocious but hilarious.

Ed Wood movies are a lot of fun - especially if you have a MST3K version. :D

I know a few hardcore Disney fans who would shank me if they knew that I liked both Lion King sequels and The Black Cauldron.

Simba's Pride is one of my favorites! Kovu! <3 But I don't like Timon and Pumba so much, so the 1 and 1/2 is ... :( Not enough lions!

I love the Black Cauldron for it's darkness and art. It's a shame it was totally mis-handled because it could have been great.

So many people in my History of Animation course hung on me for those. That and the first two Polemon movies which I still have a bit of a soft sport for.

Yes! I'm not the only one who wasn't a fan of those two!! They were just so annoying. I mean I liked 1.5 based on the fact that it was part of the saga but, yes, needed more lions.

Don't get me started on the TV show... -shudders-
