Hetalia fandom is pissing me off today.

Today is the 4th of July. Independence Day.

Today is the anniversary of the day that America broke from British rule and became its own country.

Today is the anniversary of the day that America told England to fuck off in 1776.

Somehow, in Hetalia fandom this translates to US/UK Super Happy Buttsecks Tiem Day.

I'm with you there.
I just knew the comm would be insufferable today -_- I don't even like US as a character, so I'm not finding much to love on the comm at all today, in fact lol

From an outside perspective, it's pretty weird. I don't think I've ever seen as much hubbub about the Fourth of July on the Internet before. ._. I've been seeing people going "OMG HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALFRED" all over the place.

Because it's aaaaaagnst and somehow in anime and manga that translates to hot sex on a towel in a steaming bathroom or something.

It's kind of one of the reasons I came away from the fandom, tbh. 90% of it cannot history.

I wish Igiko were the canon England. Then the US/UK fanbase would be a lot less obnoxious.

The girl in my icon is what the fandom calls Igiko. Himaruya drew a bunch of the main cast genderbent. The fem!England is particularly popular. I think she's adorable.
