I am liking this much more after the second episode because it's now possible to actually care about what happens to the various characters and to think of them as people with lives lived prior to the start of this particular story and loose ends sometimes still dangling, all of which give them more reason to have the personalities and virtues/ ( Read more... )

In some ways I liked the first episode better--the Marx Brothers move-the-body business really skated slapstick, and felt out of place. But overall, I'm really glad I bought it. (Just cranky that the price on pbs.org dropped ten bucks the day after I paid full price!)

I agree, characters are developing nicely, and we can see Potential Problems developing, which is always nice. It's a lovely soap opera.

But I still keep looking for the stuffed vulture.

They must have moved the body when I had left the room for a minute or so because I don't remember seeing that, although it was obvious from what transpired later on that it must have happened.
