As someone who well remembers that winter of discontent (strikes and fuel shortages - and doing homework by candlelight) in England in the 1970s this made me laugh. I also like the insights into male/female relationships. When exactly do you think this story is set in relation to the events of the book? Clearly when Myron is not around; perhaps he was in Syracuse?

That's what I thought. Alexias is...not that old.

That's very funny...Alexias and his "don't ask, don't tell" policy of home management.

any character could equally journey to summer...

*snorfle*

I have this mental picture of MR having to come and round them all up and send them back to their respective books. The Macedonians would all be 'opting out' of Gedrosia, Alexander's Friends, though likely *not* Hephaistion, the winter at Mieza...we could have some very empty pages!

Plot bunnies? (You do know that Flo and I don't hold a monopoly on ITOWverse stories, right?)

Seriously, though: as I see it, the characters have to be in their respective books for their scenes; they can only pop out in the interstices. The question, then, is how much control the Author can have over those parts of the BOOKverses which she did not actually take the time to write.

The notion that the clubhouse might be free to the characters out of season, as it were...

This made me smile, and the ending made me catch my breath - lovely! Thank you very much.

I'm glad to be amusing you. (And who did say that the seasons have to march together? We are all exploring the ITOWverse together, aren't we?)
