Very enjoyable in a gloomy sort of way. I like the fact that both Greg and John find Sherlock frustrating, too much fic gives Sherlock an endless pass to be an arsehole. And this line is lovely: Sherlock wasn't good at being quietly unhappy..

Glad you're enjoying the gloom! I'm afraid things don't get any more positive in the next installment, which is now up. Sherlock is canonically an arsehole to Greg in series 2, so the fic reflects that. And I realised when writing it that the only good answer to why Greg puts up with so much from Sherlock is his determination to solve crime. It's Lestrade/detection that ends up being the real OTP here.

Thanks, I was wondering... :) I'm not sure how I ended up on this page (though I'm sure it had to do with WriSo) but this segment is BEAUTIFULLY moody and I love it and I want to crawl into Greg Lestrade's head and stay there for the rest of my life.

*toddles off to read the rest*

Thanks for dropping in and commenting. This story is back in my days before WriSoMiFu, when I was still capable of producing excessively long and angsty fics. I can never produce angst rapidly, it needs building up drip by drip, so I end up with 10,000 words and counting ;-(
