And 50 isn't so bad -- if you avert your eyes and join AARP, half the hotel chains I know give their senior discount to you looong before age 62. (It's paid for itself already in a year and a half, for me.)
You listen to me, young lady- Don't you even DARE to do that or even think it. I will join you on the other side and kick your frickin' ass!! Do you have any idea what it would do to Pat if you did that? The grief, the guilt, feeling like he let you down in some way. Do you really want to put him through that? It would destroy him, and leave the rest of us grief-stricken. We've been friends for nearly 20 years. You are my family, along with Wendy. What would I do without my Hip? I've seen you go through a lot of health problems. But you're still plugging along! You hit a milestone birthday today! And you went to DragonCon! A few years ago you wouldn't have been able to do that. Be thankful for the blessings in your life! God has given you so many gifts and talents! The world would be a much darker place without you. And you have a lot of people who love you. So, please, don't let yourself think dark thoughts. I know how hard it is to do, but please call me if you ever start thinking like that again. I love you so much!
Kiddo, like I posted later.... no need to be concerned at all. Hey, having written it at all was saying I needed help, right? I still need. There just isn't really anyone who can help with these particulars. *But* my song writing is springing up, so that is a positive (depending on one's musical tastes...)
Don't worry about it. You have your own things to have to deal with.

I'm so glad we got to get together or I would have panicked reading this!
Things can look dismal in the middle of the night, so never use any long term solutions for a short term problem. Also, don't make decisions when you are angry, upset or tired. Didn't it look better when you were rested, fed and out having fun?
