As I have usually done for the past 2 years, here are my favorites for the 83rd Academy Awards that will happen on February 27th 2011 (SOON!!):
Note: The (*) means that I haven't seen the movie (some of them haven't even been released in France at the point I'm writing this)

127 Hours
Black Swan
The Fighter *
Inception
The Kids Are All Right *
The King's Speech
The Social Network
Toy Story 3
True Grit *

I'd LOVE for Inception to win, but I know it won't :-( so my second choice is the King's Speech.

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Amy Adams (The Fighter) *
Helena Bonham Carter (The King's Speech)
Melissa Leo (The Fighter) *
Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) *
Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom)
Obviously since in a lot of categories I haven't seen most of the movies, I vote for the ones I saw and because I think that the actors were good. For this category, if Helena Bonham Carter doesn't get it (which she won't), I'd like Amy Adams to win, because I really like her and I think she's a great actress.
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN DIRECTING
Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan)
Ethan Coen, Joel Coen (True Gift) *
David Fincher (The Social Network)
Tom Hooper (The King's Speech)
David O. Russell (The Fighter) *
I still don't understand why Christopher Nolan isn't nominated, I really don't get it. But I'll be happy with David Fincher winning it because I love him as weel.

Mike Leigh (Another Year) *
Scott Silver, Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, Keith Dorrington (The Fighter) *
Christopher Nolan (Inception)

My heart flenches between the two. Obviously Toy Story 3 was great, but I also loved How to Train Your Dragon…

If Inception doesn't at least get this one, I give up.
Obviously I didn't cover ALL of the categories because I had no business judging (because I saw none of the movies, or because I just think I'm not "qualified" to judge... Not that I am that much qualified to judge the other categories...).
Hope you enjoyed (hopefully my choices didn't upset you too much).
