Ugh, I'm fucking tired of feeling sick all the time. It never ends. The doctors damn well better find something wrong with me, because this can't be coincidence or hypochondria. Hopefully it's something serious, like a brain tumour. At least then I wouldn't have to worry about the details of the rest of my life--would just have to focus on ( Read more... )

*hugs*

Have you been under a lot of stress? I was letting myself get bummed about everything imaginable for several weeks before I tried to "cure" myself with half a bottle of tylenol and wound up in Intensive Care for several days. I developed the notion that I might have cancer in my prostate or colon, so nothing really mattered anyway... it took a total of 5 days in the hospital for me to wake up and realize that there are amazing things you can do with your life, you just have to make up your mind to do them.

I like to eat chocolate and pretend I can dance to Rihanna when bad things happen. ;)

Hmm, well, not a LOT of stress...a little, sure, but nothing terrible. Ouch, 5 days in a hospital...well, I guess you had to learn somehow. *hug*

Yeah, that's the way to go, eh? Heh, oh, you're a better dancer than me, I guarantee you. We should hold a dance-off! With chocolate prizes. Been watching So You Think You Can Dance lately, and it makes me feel like "getting down", or whatever the slang for that is, these days. I think the breakdancers are by far the most impressive. So jealous. I'd be brave enough to do it if I could wear a helmet so I don't crack my head open...but that kinda zaps some of the coolness out of it. :/

Yeah, that'd be good. I'd love to see it with you, or hang out before or after, or whatever. Not sure if Drew's going up at all. I'll have to work at 6, so I need to leave myself enough time to get back.

The other thing is, I was pretty much bedridden today with nausea/headaches/general crappiness, so if I'm not feeling too hot I might give it a miss this year. I'll try my best to make it, though. It's been a while.

Awww, I miss you, too! Well, hopefully you saw my latest entry--looks like I'll be able to make it, after all. I'll bring some meds, just in case.

Yeah, I'm hoping I can make it, though I can't stay late because I work that night. Where can everyone meet, and when?

Aww. *hug* Yeah, that's probably the most accurate metaphor I've heard to date. (shit, wait, simile? No, I think this one's a metaphor...)

similes use like/as, metaphors directly impose alternate existences on some thing or concept as a means of comparison. If she'd said something like "love can get you shot if you don't watch for raccoons with sniper rifles," it'd be a metaphor, if you took into account that only war involves raccoons toting sniper rifles. ...or ..something. I guess a simile works better there. ;)

Sorry, the English major in me had to pop out and wrigggle a bit!

LOL, okay. What about the sentence "His eyes were blue, similar to the ocean". Not the most elegant sentence in the world, granted, but it doesn't use the word "like" or "as", but it's still making a pretty plain comparison. Still a simile?
