The owner was letting her chill out there, working on some of her paperwork and research while he made delivery pizzas. She chewed the end of her pencil, trying to work out the equation in her head...
The sound of thunder made her jump slightly.
...that wasn't thunder, the cups on the tables shook. Earthquake? Betty got up from her seat, going to the window to look out at the dark storm.

Bruce looks over as a car comes down the road, keeping him from crossing it. In the dim light beneath the streetlamp he slides down to the ground again and rests. Anger makes his head hurt, and his feet feel twice as heavy. He needs to rest and calm down, and so he does from his spot on the ground next to the post, never once taking his eyes off the front of the familiar pizza parlor.

Stanley was coming out with a pizza from the oven and sees her pressed up against the window. "Miss Betty, you shouldn't stand so close..."
Without even listening, she's out the door and into the rain, hurrying across the road towards the figure. If she was wrong, so be it, but she had to know.
A spotlight hits her and a car slides to a stop, just missing her with a loud blare of it's horn. Betty only just manages to miss getting hit.

"Betty?" Something in his voice is off, it's a bit deeper, as if he's sick, but it's still recognizably Bruce's voice. He sounds uncertain, almost confused.

Betty turns quickly at his voice, trying to hide her disappointment that he still looked ill. A small smile, "Hi."

"Still green." He sits up with disappointment in his voice, noticing the pressure cuff and works to undo it, looking around. "I, I want, mirror. A mirror." He'd seen his reflection in puddles and windows, but he still had no idea how far he was in the transformation. None of the surfaces had been able to resolve more than his general form, and those vivid green eyes.

But he seemed determined and she cast about the lab for something that might do as a mirror. She finally finds a flat metal tray with a clear enough back that he can see and hesitates before giving it to him. Watching him carefully in case he has a bad reaction to this.
