Like I told margaret75, I'm gonna start posting questions from a book I read called "Answers to Tough Questions: Skeptics Ask About the Christian Faith" by Josh McDowell and Don Stewart.
I'm going to post question 15 now...read that too.
Jesus was baptized by John (who thought it odd the HE baptized Jesus when it should've been the other way around) as a part of God's plan. The plan that we all are baptized and "washed" of our sins. Although the fact that Jesus was without sin didn't matter, as He was an example to us.
What Jesus' actual words were is a matter of believing what the apostles said they were. Like an interview with...say...Mark Twain. Were the answers his own words or did someone just make it all up. Would anyone even question that those words were his own?
