Monday is Music (?) day.

I doubt this qualifies as actual music and you'll watch it at your own peril, but Friday night Greece picked its song for the Eurovision song contest and I have to say, it's a hideous one. There was a nice ballad I liked and another not so bad one, but no, we had to go with this

Wow, that is so spectacularly bad it's almost, almost a worthy companion to our song! Bikers. In harem pants. And vests. Channeling some kind of cossack dance. Doing the grunting macho man impression. Brilliant. The impression I got was a singing Dark Lord and his coterie. Not a very good Dark Lord, though. Maybe the one from "Eragon".

Do I want to know what the lyrics are about?

Lyrics? There are lyrics too? The song made me gag badly enough the first couple of times, I'm not listening to it again just so I can translate it to you!

By no means should you feel obliged to. Sorry. :-) I asked just in case you were feeling masochistic today.

I had to sit through an extra 2 and a half hours of discussing kids with their parents today, I think I've done my masochistic duty for the day. I'll see if I can stomach the lyrics some other day.

Opa!

I may need to take up drinking again before watching this Eurovision.

No stapler. :(

I'm still more likely to listen to it than to Ireland's entry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkalp05T8BE

Did they pull random punters off the street, or did those guys 1) rehearse and 2) agree to dress like that??

Opa! This song can only be appreciated when you're drunk, apparently, I plan on being thoroughly sloshed when the time comes. The outfits are out of this world, no argument there.

And yes, the Stapler will be missed. Dave had the most awesome line this weekend: "Wanna check out my stapler?" (along with appropriate leer) I'm pretty sure this line only works in a long term relationship and after you've given your partner half an hour so she can stop laughing.

Mesmerising.

In a closeted way I love it. But then I always love Turkey and Greece, no matter what stinkers they throw out there.
This is I just.can't.look.away.best.car.crash.of.the.decade type of stuff

Seriously.

I speak with authority on this matter.

You would know. ;)

Does that mean you'll be supporting Greece in this year's Eurovision?
