You know, the more I learn about her, the more I want her to have to speak on her own behalf. You realize that they're not letting her be interviewed because they fear this stuff might be asked about?
I wish they would. I would love to see how she would spin it. I can't help but get irate whenever I hear someone say, 'I'm voting McCain! He has a WOMAN for his running mate! Yay! She's AWESOME!' Death!
That's a little misleading. She didn't personally do it. The city had not, at that point, paid for the forensics. They were billing the insurance companies or the individual (if they had no insurance, though I suppose with Medicaid, they probably weren't billed *then* either) for the kits. The police chief was the culprit there.
And, apparently, this was not the only city who was doing this since the bill passed in 2000 was statewide.
I don't think a victim should have to pay for a kit, but that's because I think our taxes have payed above and beyond for that already. If we can buy people who don't have it health insurance, we should as hell should have medical forensics already paid for as well.
