I'm catching up finally! I finished this case in one day instead of two! I am winnar! And since the game won't ACTUALLY be able to be bought until the 20th, I'll have an extra day. Maybe I can finish early and play Professor Layton... :|
I kind of feel bad about the fact that now that I've played it for the first time already, I can never get that feeling back... That excitement and adrenaline rush of playing it for the first time. It's kind of an 'oh well why be disappointed by this' but this case was really fantastic to play the first time, and I'll never have that again. Just slowly piecing through all the secrets, finding out about Celeste, not knowing what's going on with Maya, cross-examining De Killer... It was all so just completely awesome.
Edgeworth is back and more badass than ever, and totally flippant about how very gay Wright is over him. I WISH YOU'D STAYD DED!?!?!? Jesus Wright, just make out with him already! Anyhow, I do understand why he was so melodramatically angry about the whole thing. Wright's main motivation is trust, and Edgeworth betrayed that trust by running away. It is a bit unkind of him to be so flippant about the whole matter, but then again Edgeworth doesn't seem to be very good with.. FEELINGS. Or being understanding. I've been struggling to introduce more confident badassery to my Edgeworth at gyakusai_rp, and having some success. I really love this Edgeworth, and it cemented my fangirling of the character when I played this case. Like many, I really consider this one of the best if not the best case in the games. Obviously as my name implies I also really love 3-2...
As usual, I'm going to talk oh so too much about the motivations of the killer. Engarde was one crazy bastard, that's for sure. But the think that completely weirds me out is that he seems to have this sort of crazy attitude about his 'other personality.' Makes me wonder if it's a little more pathological than calculating. And of course, that's why there's all that fanart of him making out with himself... >_>
I think that my favorite part is the fact that stone-cold motherfucker Matt Engarde practically starts pissing his pants when he realizes De Killer is gonna kill him.
Also, "A full-course meal of whip leather"!? Oh Edgeworth, I love you.
;_; Also, Adrian smiling. Why am I always so taken apart by characters who have never smiled before smiling!? I think it's kind of good to have a character like her, even though I feel like her co-dependency was a little bit too... Simple. Then again, it's a video game, how complex can it really be.
And the Judge is all "I have no fucking idea what's going on here but everyone's pretty happy so whateva~!" *gavelbang*
Note: Edgeworth says he used every dirty trick in the book. It is an extensive book. Then again, he's prone to hyperbole at times.
As far as Edgeworth and Franziska... I really love their interaction at the end. It's very much a brother-sister dynamic, through the lens of two very emotionally reserved people. That crying at the end was very telling, I think. Franziska seems to really look up to Miles, but she wants to surpass him, too. That's really something you see a lot with younger siblings, I think, and with the extra wrinkle of Franzy being the heir to the vK throne, it just is so believable and genuine that it really is the one thing that makes me not hate Franzy. It's kind of interesting how interaction with a character I like redeems a character I normally wouldn't like, but it really adds enough of a wrinkle to her character that she stops being one-dimensional and starts reaching towards two or three.
